ABOUT THE NICK

From a young age, I gravitated towards music. I am entirely self-taught. Having no knowledge of music theory I rely heavily on my ear, and improvisational efforts. In addition to being self-taught on the piano, I also know very rudimentary rhythm guitar mostly to the end of songwriting as opposed to performance. I prefer to use my novice efforts in instrumentation to give a song a backbone and bring on as many massively talented musicians as possible to collaborate with to make an incredible finished product. I am a songwriter at heart. I sing lead, as well as provide harmonies and duet. Speaking objectively, I genuinely believe my song-writing is imaginative and yet blunt. It is raw, without being shocking for shock's sake. I sing folk music that is influenced by blues, psych rock, and other genre hopping to round out the sound. You never know where or from who something profound may come. As one of my favorite songwriters once said. "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls." It could just be you. If I were to give any advice to an aspiring songwriter it would be: just do what makes you happy, and say what you truly mean to the best of your ability when you sit down to write a song.
